Meet Dr. Kerry Silvia: Pediatric Neuropsychologist

Training & Experience

I am a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in pediatric neuropsychology. I completed my graduate training at Suffolk University in Boston, MA with a Clinical Child concentration, earning my Masters in 2007 and my PhD in 2010. As part of my graduate training, I completed a one-year APA-accredited internship in Child Clinical/Pediatric Psychology at the University of Florida (UF) Health Sciences Center. I then completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at UF. After that, my family and I moved to Maryland and I worked as a pediatric neuropsychologist at the Sandra and Malcolm Berman Brain & Spine Institute at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore.

A Personalized Approach to Neuropsychological Assessment

I started Village Child Assessment in 2015. I love working in a private practice setting because I’m able to plan specific assessments to meet each child’s and family’s individual needs. I also love being able to meet with each child and family myself throughout the assessment process, including conducting the testing myself. This lets me truly get to know them. Learning more about the nuances of who a child is, how he or she experiences and approaches different tasks and situations, and his or her unique strengths and challenges helps me to develop recommendations that are the best fit for each child and family specifically. I am always trying to improve on my assessments and reports to be more helpful to families. I strive to provide a report that is thorough, specific, and easy to understand, with clear direction for next steps.
